DEGREES OF SEPARATION
As I perused the glibness of Peter Singer's observations on bestiality and the 'naturalness' of it in human sexuality, I shouldn't have been surprised, despite the fact that he is a professor at Princeton University, a place where the "highest minds" are attracted to - to prepare themselves as FUTURE LEADERS of our fair land ~~ taught, of course, by the HIGHEST minds money can buy.
If you take yourself to www.nerve.com and do a search for an essay called, "HEAVY PETTING," by Peter Singer, you may be a bit shocked at how low this educator has sunk in ostensibly accepting that human sexual need may naturally include anything that walks on two or four legs. In fairness to Singer, he mentions an exception to human dalliance: THE HEN, simply because human cohabitation usually leads to its imminent death! Singer seems sensitive to this peculiarity of nature.
Since even Singer seems to have qualms about causing pain to animals, there seems to be very little else that bothers him about moral checks, especially when it comes to sexuality with animals, giving deeper meaning to the phrase: BE KIND TO YOUR PETS!
This was just one tidbit in this disturbing essay found on RENSE.COM:

Jack - of course - is sensitive to all of this since he SUFFERED FROM sexual child abuse AND RIGHTLY WONDERS just what type of 'enlightenment' is being displayed by the "SINGERS" of the world?!?
Jack quotes Singer as saying that the only taboo blocking the acceptance of sex between humans & animals is the "Judeo-Christian tradition." Get rid of this non-sense, according to Singer, and the taboo would fall!
[[Presumably, this would lead - in the distant future - to each household having its own extra STRAW bed installed, filled with animals who could hardly wait for their nightly bliss ~ left best to the imagination!]]
When a female supporter of Singer was querried as to how an animal can consent to a sexual act, according to this essay, she gave an evasive answer; Singer, himself, had stated that beastiality has always existed in the world, and therefore, it must be normal. [[LOGIC 101 AT PRINCETON?]]
JACK adds an appropriate aside:
ALCOHOL AND DRUGS HAVE ALWAYS EXISTED. DOES THAT MEAN WE SHOULD ENCOURAGE THEM ALSO?
Of course, Jack was a VICTIM ~ not a big-league professor, so what Jack thinks may mean little in the BIG professional educational scheme of things, it seems.
If things weren't bad enough with the likes of Singer, MassNews, in 1999, reported that the American Psychological Assoc. "had published a study indicating that pedophilia, (sex with children) can have a positive influence on a child."
[[At this point, I had to reread this just to make sure it said what I was interpreting...and it was!]]
MassNews further related that the American Psychiatric Assoc. changed its Diagnostic Manuel, where it was NOT a disorder to molest children [?] if "the adult does not feel anxious about the relationship with the child or if the adult is not impaired in his work or social relationships, then he has no 'disorder.' " [[HELLO?]]
TO ME, lebeau, this ~ in the very least ~ begs the question:
WHAT ABOUT THE POSSIBLE ANXIETY-INDUCED FEELINGS OF THE CHILD IN QUESTION??? DOESN'T THAT COUNT FOR ANYTHING IN THIS SEEMINGLY TWISTED EQUATION?!?
Apparently, an innocent child, like an animal other than a hen, has NO REAL SAY and need not give its consent....Surely, we are seeing 'HIGH-PRICED-PROFESSIONAL-ACADEMIA' at some remote nadir point in human devolution!?! As night follows day, with a degree from Princeton, ARMED WITH the thinkings of these kinds of professionals, it seems like there would be a propensity for 'fair-game' on kids & goats alike!!! HOW PITIFUL IS THIS? WHO, IN GOD'S NAME, IS CALLING ATTENTION TO THIS?

After reflecting on the above essay, a few ideas crossed my mind, which is NOW the stated purpose of my commentary....
There seems to be a question as to whether MAN has a soul (spirit) or is simply ~ JUST ANOTHER ANIMAL, a la Desmond Morris ("THE NAKED APE.", a dated book written a few decades ago.)
If we really study the Sumerian Myths (noted on this website) and postulated by scholar, Zecharia Sitchin, before ENKI ~ the Sumerian god ~ "plucked" the indiginous hominid from the jungles of Africa, (the UNDERWORLD) and biogenetically engineered it to become more 'civilized' and useful for work in the gold mines, this same hominid was INDEED cohabitating with other animals; [cf. "THE 12TH PLANET" for the sordid details.] PERHAPS ~ Professor Singer is simply recalling "THE GOOD-OLD-DAYS?!?"
Of course, religious literature, especially highly spiritual tractates as found in THE NAG HAMMADI LIBRARY, mentions things like...WE ARE PART OF GOD'S SPIRIT ('The Tripartitie Tractate',) who have been sent out to the third dimension (EARTH) in order to learn how to love, disentangle ourselves from the lower physical realms (THE THINGS OF BELOW) so we can be entitled to experience THE THINGS OF ABOVE! [[This may be a new insight to people like Singer, or maybe he just does not get it!]] For those who do get it, it is the reason Jesus said in the New Testament:
MAN DOES NOT LIVE BY BREAD ALONE.
Maybe the answer to this 'enigma' of why an ostensibly intelligent Princeton professor can spew-out such UTTER NONSENSE and expect the rest of us to accept it as NORMAL! Is his own DEGREE OF SEPARATION...
SEPARATION FROM HIS SPIRITUAL ROOT ~ calloused by the hard-darkness of the lower realms (EARTH)???
Maybe MINDSETS like those of Singer are so far SEPARATED from their root, that they are CLUELESS as to their present situation as well as their ultimate goal, i.e. to disentangle from the 'goats' of below...SO...they feel an arrogent comfort in the company of those same goats (and horses & God knows what else!) This may also focus on the "sticky" question of just what exactly is 'NORMAL' & WHY?
WHAT IF WE ARE SPIRIT??? WHAT IF WE ARE JUST HAVING A HUMAN EXPERIENCE (like gas in a car to make the SHELL go; no pun intended;) WHAT IF "THE NAG HAMMADI LIBRARY" is correct when one of its tractates, ('The Tripartitie Tractate,') stated, in effect, that there had been a SEED SOWN WITHIN US so that we would seek after The Father of the All?!?
The "catch" is - one must sincerely desire to seek Him, or remain below with goat-like-things, ad infinitum! If one is truly happy with the goats and pigs and cows, and whatever, one is making a free choice, and even the Father of the All will never interfere with that choice; but choices have consequences!
This may be beyond the ken of these intellectual pundits, but I have assayed in the esoteric literature that reincarnation & karma dictate that the longer we tarry with goats BELOW, the harder it will be to disentangle ourselves in order to seek the things ABOVE!!!
THE LAST POINT I would like to make about our predicamnet ~ our sojourn on this planet, but particularly, as it relates to this disturbing essay, is simple:
AT WHAT POINT DOES ONE OPT FOR SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT where one must fight past (like an upstream-bound-salmon) the clouded ideas of Academia, and the FALSE REALITY being perpetrated upon us by prestigious professors with their umpty-dumpty degrees? If one is not ready to challenge the ludicrous assumptions of AUTHORITY, especially when its dictates slide percipitously into sheer lunacy, then it may be because one is STILL ASLEEP! Perhaps it may even be a neurosis ~ like the fear of the consequences of challenging authority ~ so strong, in fact, that we-collectively-will swallow anything they can dish out!
We have a "situation" in the U.S. right now regarding the legitimacy of the income tax system. What some accountants & legal folks, (many with lucrative vested interests at stake) are trying to validate this system, while ignoring the REAL law!
THIS IS THE SAME LUNACY AS WAS DISCUSSED ABOVE ABOUT THE APA's STANCE ON THE "DISORDER" OR "NON-DISORDER" OF AN ADULT AS IT RELATES TO THE EFFICACY OF A SEXUAL RELATION WITH AN INNOCENT CHILD (OR ANIMAL, BUT NOT THE HEN!)
IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, if one does not believe he or she is a spiritual being, then, in one's own fear &/or denial, one will let...
THE SINGERS OF THE WORLD ~ WIN!

This may all boil down to a new sophisticated series of conventional endemic neuroses:
(1) FEAR OF PROFESSIONAL NITWITS, combined with...
(2) FEAR OF ANY AUTHORITY FIGURE, as long as he/she has a commanding voice, combined with...
(3) FEAR OF CHANGE!!!
CHANGE? YES - CHANGE! We all have, one time or another, been a victim of CONVENTIONAL CHANGE. Recently, a loving famale told me a sad story about how her brother was up-to-his-eyeballs in debt.
He didn't know where he was going to get the money to pay for bills coming due within the next six months. This loving female pointed out to him that by renegotiating his present mortgage, (he is now 59), that he would wind up with more than enough money to offset all his present bills, with some left over for emergencies.
HIS RESPONSE: My mortgage will be fully paid-up in eight years. If I do what you (the concerned female) is urging, it will not be paid up until I am 82! THE ANSWER IS "NO!"
The concerned & loving female later told me: byron, it's his bloomin' fear of change! It clouds his otherwise acute mind! END OF CURIOUS ANECDOTAL TALE....
lebeau's analysis: As long as one kow-tow's to these above-mentioned neuroses, one's lot may be no better than the ANIMAL or CHILD whose consent is "not necessary!"
As Bob Schulz of WE THE PEOPLE FOUNDATION recently asked of the IRS & JUSTICE DEPARTMENT ~in a full-page ad within the NEY YORK TIMES:
WHY WON'T YOU ANSWER OUR QUESTIONS?
THE ANSWER SHOULD BE OBVIOUS TO ANYONE WHO HAS STUDIED THE HISTORY OF THE SHENANIGANS THAT HAS BEEN PERPETRATED ON THE GOOD PEOPLE OF THE united States of America over the last 88 years:
WE DON'T ANSWER TO ANIMALS OR CHILDREN!
